Further delays on A421 after lorry carrying livestock overturned between A6 at Bedford and M1

It might be an idea to avoid the A421 altogether as there’s been another crash.
A421 is closed northbound between A6 at Bedford south and the M1 junction 13 at Brogborough after a HGV trailer overturned this morning (Tuesday).
Bedfordshire Fire and Rescue are working on scene alongside traffic officers.
This follows on from a road traffic collision on the A421 eastbound between Marston Moretaine and Wootton as reported earlier.
A National Highways spokesman said: “The A421 eastbound at Marston Moretaine has been closed following an overturned lorry which was carrying livestock. Bedfordshire Police and Fire & Rescue are currently on scene. Traffic officers have shut the A421 eastbound from junction 13 of the M1.
"Recovery crews are now on site and will begin recovering the vehicle. Once the vehicle has been recovered, the road will be reopened.”
Diversion route
Road users travelling northbound are advised to follow the solid triangle diversion symbols on road signs:
From the A421 eastbound, just after the M1 junction 13 take the first right on to Station Road
Continue along Station Road towards Ridgmont
At the Station Road/A507 Woburn Road junction, turn left on to the A507
Continue on the A507 through Ridgmont and on the Ampthill bypass to the Froghall roundabout
Take the first exit remaining on the A507, pass through the next roundabout
At the Flitwick Road roundabout take the second exit towards Clophill
At the A6/A507 junction in Clophill turn left on to the A6
Continue on the A6 to the A6/A421 roundabout
Rejoin the A421 eastbound
