A family-run farm that brought ‘fun and laughter’ to children for 12 years is set to close.
Thurleigh Farm Centre and Adventure Playground will shut at the end of the month after owners admitted that to stay open would be at a “cost” to the family.
A statement on the farm’s Facebook page said the family had “run of out of energy”.
It said: “We have seen the farm flourish into a centre where parents and children can have family fun together.
“It has given us great pleasure in seeing a little one’s face light up during animal feeding or the shrieks of laughter as a parent and child race down the wavy slide.
“We don’t need to tell our regular visitors how hard we have worked to create an entity that entertains and are grateful to our loyal staff that have supported so fantastically and to our wonderful members and visitors who have appreciated what we have sought to achieve.”
“However, to continue to run the Centre would be at a cost to our family and the demands, not least from health and safety, are becoming more onerous. Put bluntly we have run out of energy.”
The farm will close at 5.30pm on Sunday, September 27 and the team are inviting everyone to make a last visit to the farm.
The statement added: “We would like to thank everyone who has supported us over the years and wish you all success in finding new adventures and creating more memories.”
