Theft of charity tin from shop may be linked to robbery outside Aldi

Police are appealing for information after a man stole a charity tin from a shop in Westoning.

The incident happened at around 7pm on Tuesday, June 21, when a man entered the Nisa store in High Street and stole the tin from the counter. He then fled the scene in a blue car.

The man is described as white, approximately 40-years-old and wearing a blue and white striped hooded top. The driver of the car is described as a white man wearing a red football shirt.

PC Hayley Carroll, investigating, said: “Stealing funds raised for a charity is despicable and we will not tolerate these types of offences.”

Officers are investigating to see if the incident is linked to a robbery which took place outside Aldi on the same evening.
