Police are appealing for witnesses after a teenager was hit by driver who failed to stop in Bedford.
The victim, an 18-year-old man, was struck by a silver car – possibly a taxi, in Honeysuckle Way, just off Riverfield Drive, at about 11pm on Saturday, November 29.
The boy was with two friends at the time of the incident.
He suffered serious injuries to his foot and needed hospital treatment.
The driver failed to stop at the scene.
PC Mark Atkins said: “The victim has been left with severe injuries to his left foot. The injuries include broken bones, severely torn ligaments, which have required surgery, and he will be in a wheelchair for the next eight weeks – over the Christmas period.
“I would appeal to the driver to come forward, or for anyone who knows who this driver is to come forward. I would also appeal to anyone who can remember getting a silver taxi to or from the Riverfield Drive area to get in touch.”
Anyone with any information should call PC Atkins on 101 or Crimestoppers, anonymously, 0800 555111.
