The sun shone for visitors and residents at Salvete Care Home in Rothsay Place, Bedford, when a summer fair was held.
Residents and their families had an enjoyable afternoon on Saturday, July 25, where there was a raffle, tombola, bottle stall, balloon pop and other games. The treats included cake and snack stalls, and there was a chance to browse bric-a-brac, hear a traditional fairground organ player and a Zumba session.
A spokeswoman for the home said: “The support we received from the families of our residents was phenomenal, and we really did not expect so many people to turn up. We would like to thank everybody who attended the fair or bought raffle tickets. Our profit for the day totalled £366. This money will contribute to our residents’ fund and will pay for day trips.
“All of the children who attended commented that they had a great day - this is very important to us as we like to think of Salvete Care Home to be a fun and welcoming environment, where children and families enjoy visiting. This, in turn, improves the quality of life further for our residents.”
Thanks go to the following companies and organisations for their support and donations:

The organisers would also like to thanks Chantell from CMC Fitness who led Zumba Gold session on the day. Chantell also runs the home’s fortnightly armchair based Zumba Gold sessions for residents. Thanks also to David Holloway, fairground organ player, who performs for just a donation in order to raise money for charities.
