MUSICAL instruments worth thousands of pounds have been recovered by police.

The collection of instruments belonged to the Sandy based Nexus Drum and Bugle Corps.

They left it secured within a locked compound on the Elms Industrial Estate in Bedford.

But when they returned to the compound on Friday morning (October 28) they discovered that the black Leyland LDV truck had been stolen – along with all of the group’s front line instruments.

Nexus members feared the worst but on Monday morning (October 31) the truck was discovered.

Andy Rees, one of the corps directors, who went to inspect the truck yesterday (Thursday), said: “All of our instruments were there. There is some damage to the truck but our instruments are safe.”
