Crowds braved the rain to watch the spectacular parade at Flitwick Carnival on Saturday.
The wonderful procession of floats and walkers was led by Carnival Princess Alice Hibbert and her two attendants - Chanel Lewis and Juliette Short.
The colourful parade saw Despicable Me, Robin Hood, Lion King, Pirates of the Caribbean, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory and 101 Dalmations - to name a few.
Flitwick Mayor Gareth Mackey opened the event and announced that Templefield Lower School had won the walking parade with their interpretation of Rio, and Windmill Pre-School were victorious with their The Jungle Book float.
There was so much to do and see on the Millennium Park that people forgot about the rain and enjoyed themselves with funfair rides, water zorbs, a climbing wall, inflatables and stalls.
The food court left visitors with plenty of options, including burgers, fish and chips, paella, spicy Indian treats and more. People could grab a coffee or some slush and alcoholic beverages were available from the impressive Big Red Bus Bar.
The grand prize draw stall was particularly busy as people learned that there was a home office system as the first prize, won by Penny Lee.
The arena was the central point for the day complete with a huge stage for performers and hay bales from Priestley Farm formed seating.
Heart Radio DJ Nicky Vadera was MC for the day and got everyone into the carnival spirit. The Black Eagles wowed the crowds with their acrobat show and Bernie Bennett performed his Superhero Tightrope Show.
Local group Dancevybz, the tug of war finals and the balloon release also took place in the arena.
The tug of war winners - The Tuggers - competed in a mini tournament against the Tesco Terriers (3rd) and The Swan Pub (2nd).
From 4pm onwards visitors were treated to some live music from local bands Th3 Numb3rs and Big in Brazil.
The organisers would like to thank all the people and businesses who contributed to making the carnival such a big success.
