A late night “Fireworks Flyer” will leave Bedford at 11.10pm on Saturday evening (July 16), arriving at Bletchley at 11.53pm.

And special services direct from Milton Keynes Central to Bedford will run throughout Saturday, beginning with the 2.47pm service from Milton Keynes.

Tom Joyner, London Midland passenger services director, said “The River Festival is a great example of the local community coming together, and we wanted to make sure we played our part.

“These extra trains are all about making travel to the festival simple. The through service on Sunday from Milton Keynes will be particularly welcome.

“It is not an easy service to plan. The mainline through Milton Keynes is such a busy route but we were determined to make this happen for this special day.”
