On receiving the donation Samantha Stapley, director of operations at The Trussell Trust which runs the Bedford Food Bank, said: “We are very grateful to all of the local residents who have got behind Bloor Homes campaign to collect much needed donations for food banks.

“For too many people Christmas will not be a time of celebration and the provision of food and those little extra’s will offer hope at a time when people need it most.”

Sales director for Bloor Homes South Midlands, Vanessa Macnee, added: “Community is one of our key focuses at Bloor Homes and it was lovely to see so many residents come together in support of those less fortunate within the local area.

“Bedford food bank does a tremendous job and we hope that the donations from this campaign will help them in their efforts over the forthcoming weeks.”
