One of the Bard’s darkest and most powerful works is being staged in Sharnbrook later this month.

Something wicked is arriving in the village when the Sharnbrook Mill Theatre Trust performs Macbeth.

Macbeth is the first Shakespeare play to be staged by the theatre trust and promises to deliver all of the dark, supernatural, blood and mayhem you’d expect - but in a contemporary setting.

Director Barry Thompson, from Bedford, said: “Macbeth has so much relevance for the times we live in. Raw political ambition; instant gratification, lust and greed with power at any cost. And it serves as a reminder that nothing comes without a price.

“Sharnbrook Mill is the perfect setting for this play and we have an incredible cast, led by local, professionally trained actor, Adam Pitt playing Macbeth.

“Our production promises to reveal the innermost darkness and frailty of the human heart. Not forgetting, there will be blood! It will be an experience.”

The shows will be staged from Monday, September 15 until Saturday, September 20, at 7.30pm. Tickets from £9 are available from The Central Box Office, Old Town Hall, St Paul’s Square, Bedford, by calling 01234 718 112, from Sharnbrook Post Office, or the new online booking at
