Sixth formers pledge support for Autism Bedfordshire

Staff and students of The Bedford Sixth Form have pledged to support the charity, Autism Bedfordshire, over the coming year.

The students will be working together to raise money through a wide range of fundraising events, including a pancake sale, a colour obstacle run and their end of year prom.

Autism Bedfordshire will support them in their fundraising efforts, while helping the students to understand the challenges someone with autism has to face and the work of the charity in the local community.

Autism Bedfordshire is an independent charity providing information, advice and emotional and practical support to individuals with Autistic Spectrum Conditions, their parents/carers, families and associated professionals throughout Bedfordshire.

Emma Reade, Senior Manager of Autism Bedfordshire, said: “We are so pleased that The Bedford Sixth Form has agreed to support us in this way. Partnerships like this one with local organisations are vital in order for us to continue to provide our services to people with autism across the county.

“We’re really lucky to have such supportive communities that surround our charity and are looking forward to working with The Bedford Sixth Form in the coming months. A big thank you to everyone that is raising money for us at the Sixth Form!”
