Sign up to give up booze for January

Fans of a tipple or two are being urged to banish the booze and sign up for an alcohol free January.

Dry January is an opportunity to start the New Year with a challenge and prove that you can say no to alcohol.

Figures show that an estimated one in five people in Bedfordshire binge drink, on average one person a month dies as a direct result of alcohol misuse and a worrying seven people are admitted to hospital every day because of alcohol related conditions.

The Dry January campaign is a national initiative, run by Alcohol Concern, to encourage people to ‘take a holiday from booze’ after the festive period.
