The showcase, on Friday, May 13, highlights everything the brigade has been busy with over the last 12 months and will include presentations of trophies.

The evening starts at 7pm at Kempston East Methodist Church when all sections of the company will present items including games and sketches.

The boys’ choice for the Kempston Chip Shop of the Year will be announced and presentations of trophies and awards will include the Outstanding Service Award, the Community Shield and Bands Person of the Year.

Guests of honour will be Clifton and Margaret Ibbett.

Admission is free and there will be a collection in Aid of Company Funds and The Road Victims Trust.

Philip Timms, Company Captain, said: “Sadly, just two weeks ago, one of our helpers Mr Rob Skipper died suddenly at home. We will pause as a mark of respect to remember Rob and his contribution for over 40 years to Kempston and the wider Boys’ Brigade.

“Rob was a dedicated leader who was very proud of this company. He stayed helping as he wanted young people now to enjoy what he had when he was young. He was a dedicated leader but most importantly a great, great friend who will be missed immensely.”
