Shotgun fired on doorstep of home in ‘isolated’ incident

An investigation has been launched after a shotgun was fired on the doorstep of a Bedford home.

The gun was discharged at the front door of a house in Westbourne Road on Sunday (January 3) between 10.15pm and 10.30pm.

Officers are keen to speak to anyone with any knowledge of the incident, or who witnessed anything suspicious in the area at the time.

Det Sgt Mark Stewart said: “We take firearms offences incredibly seriously and are doing all in our power to bring the person or people responsible to justice. I would like to speak to any witnesses to this event, or anyone who was in the area at the time, to help us establish the circumstances behind this attack.

“I would like to reassure the wider community of Bedford that we believe this to be an isolated incident, in which thankfully no-one was injured.”
