Founded in 2002 and an ever present in the top two divisions of ladies county football in Bedfordshire, the ladies were looking to rebuild following a disappointing 2014/15 campaign, which saw them relegated from Division One.

In the summer, Sharnbrook brought in nine new players, a new coach and a new manager, and after some hard work, they got off to a fine start, losing just once in their first eight games.

The second half of the season was even more successful with the team going undefeated. This resulted in a staggering goal difference of plus 58 from only 16 matches, as they won 12 and drew three.

These results led to SWFC winning the title and being promoted back into the top tier of ladies county football.

The promotion is a great achievement for a club based in a small village and with limited resources as the hard work, effort and determination shown by all was evident and this season’s success has only helped the team to bond and develop further.
