A village will be transformed into a seaside town for the day during this year’s Maulden Village Show.
The event’s theme on Saturday, June 27 is Maulden by the Sea and will see children parading through the village in beach attire.
It will start at 11.15am when children from the lower school are led by their nominated Rose King and Queen - Year 4’s India-Rose Stanier Martin and James Taylor - on a parade through the village.
It will culminate in a crowning ceremony on the stage at the village hall.
Stalls, game, country dancing, May pole dancing and displays will then commence from midday to 3pm.
The funds raised on the day will go to Maulden Lower School, which is fundraising for new library books, and local organisations. School headteacher Mrs Wang said: ““We are really excited to be holding this year’s village show at Maulden Village Hall. This is the third time it has been held at the hall, previously the show has been organised independently by the school, and whilst it has always been well attended we feel that by holding the event in the heart of the village it creates a real sense of community spirit.
“There will be lots of fun and games for all of the family and everyone is invited.”
