Little learners from three Bedford lower schools had fun conducting experiments and using advanced equipment at a special science academy. The eight pupils from Pinchmill Lower School, Goldington Green Academy and Springfield Lower School were nominated at by their teachers. The sessions – held on Saturday mornings – were designed to stretch and challenge youngsters who are particuarly interested in science.
Eight-year-old Thomas from Pinchmill said: “I absolutely loved it. I was fascinated by the slime – it was all green and gooey, like radiation fluid.” Bedford Modern School science outreach co-ordinator Daniel Honnor said he had been impressed by the enthusiasm of the children who took part.
