On Easter weekend 2019, individuals, groups and companies are being challenged to ‘Bash the Beds Boundary’ by running the 150-mile length of the Bedfordshire county boundary over the course of 24 hours.

As well as pushing their own personal boundaries, the runners will be raising money to fight one of the most unimaginably cruel conditions, with every single penny raised going to The Motor Neurone Disease Association.

The Bash will be split into two distinct challenges - a team relay event covering the entire 150-mile route (with a maximum of ten slots available) and a five-mile ‘final leg’ event, open to groups or individuals.

The five-mile run will take place at the picturesque Picts Hill House estate in Turvey, where the main team event will start and finish.

As well as individual runners, the event offers a great opportunity for companies who are looking for a truly memorable employee challenge – with firms ideally matching the sponsorship funds raised by their runners.

Places are limited, so if you’re ready to challenge yourself and keen to make a real difference for a truly worthwhile cause, then enter now.

Bashing the Beds Boundary was dreamt up by Bedford-based marathon runner Rob Burrells to raise money and awareness for the Motor Neurone Disease Charity. Unfortunately, Rob’s sister suffers from the disease.

He approached Nick Kier, the cofounder of the St George’s Day Charity Fund and organiser of the successful 7for7in7 Charity Half Marathons held in 2016, with a view to making his “dream” a reality.

Bashing the Beds Boundary is open to teams consisting of anything from one to 29 runners who will complete the entire run in relay.

The minimum age for participants is 18. It is recommended that each entrant carries out some form of training prior to the event to make sure that they are fit enough to complete the course.

The closing date for entries is Friday, March 22 2019
