Head teacher Lisa Virnuls said: “You could see by their faces how excited they were to be given a new book. We were very pleased to have been chosen. Children have to be good at grammar, spelling and language in general in spite of the fascination of social media and our teachers will be expecting plenty of new words coming their way.”

Pupils gave a recital on the history of language to parents, teachers and Rotarians at the village hall and also sang. Mr Lennox is pictured with Ava Crawley, Daniel Ross and Luke Muldowney.
