Robber on cycle punched victim after demanding phone


Police are appealing for information after an attempted robbery in Bedford.

The victim was walking on Goldington Avenue at about 10.20pm on Friday, February 13, when he was approached by a man on a push bike.

The man got off his bike and demanded the victim hand over his mobile phone. When the victim refused, the man punched him in the face before leaving on his bike.

The suspect is described as mixed race, in his 20s, approximately 5’9”, slim, with a shaved head and a short goatee beard.

He was believed to be wearing dark clothing, a navy puffa style jacket, and was riding a silver or white bike.

DC Jenny Bryce said: “This was a completely unprovoked attack and in order to prevent the offender carrying out similar attacks we’d urge anyone with information to contact us immediately.”
