If you and your little ones are excited for Santa to arrive and want to track his journey as he travels the globe on Christmas Eve, here’s how.

The North American Aerospace Defense Command (NORAD) and Google both have apps that allow children across the world to monitor his movements as he delivers presents.

NORAD’s Santa tracking app

NORAD has an official Santa Tracker app and website that allows you to learn all about Santa, listen to his favourite songs, play games, watch films about him - and track his travels.

The Norad Tracks Santa Twitter page recently tweeted that the “#Santa tracking starts with our North Warning System! It's 47 powerful #radars spanning the #Arctic from Alaska through Canada! That's how #NORAD knows when Santa will be at your house!”

The NORAD Tracks Santa website receives almost nine million unique visitors each year, from more than 200 countries across the globe.

On Christmas Eve, around 1,500 volunteers respond to emails and calls asking about Santa's exact locations.

Tuesday 24 December will see the official Santa tracker launch, allow eager followers of Santa Claus to keep and eye on his journey across the world.

The app is available to download on both iOS and Android mobile phone devices.

Google’s Santa tracking website

Google also have a Santa tracking website, where you can “explore, play and learn with Santa’s elves all December long.”

Google’s Santa's Village offers a wide selection of exciting games and resources for children and families. Children can learn about different holiday traditions around the world, alongside learning how to code and say different festive greetings from around the globe.

There’s even a daily North Pole Newscast, Santa Selfie tool and a countdown to Christmas timer on each page.

Christmas Eve will see Santa's Village launch into a tracking experience, which will enable children to follow Santa’s journey as he delivers gifts around the world.

You can track Santa on a desktop, mobile or tablet device.
