Pupils, staff and governors mark 50th anniversary at Flitwick school

Children, staff and governors celebrated the 50th anniversary of Kingsmoor Lower School which first opened in Flitwick in 1965.

As part of the celebrations children performed songs, shared special memories and read poems, as well as recounting some historical facts about the school to visitors including Flitwick Mayor and former members of staff.

A silver birch tree donated by Warners Ground Maintenance has been planted to commemorate the anniversary.

hildren were involved in a range of activities including exploring art work inspired by the 1960s and they played traditional games and enjoyed a picnic.

Tesco’s Flitwick kindly donated a cake which was cut by the oldest boy and girl in school. A time capsule containing work from the days activities will be buried.

Headteacher Mrs White said: “Children have enjoyed a wonderful day. Staff, parents and governors are very proud of our children and the community.”
