Primary school in Bedfordshire hosts '˜great teacher bake off'

It was a bake off with a difference last week at Westfield School.

The school council arranged for teachers to compete against each other to produce some top bakes to raise money for MacMillan Cancer.

24 teachers took part and were each given 60 minutes to create their own ‘showstoppers’.

Deputy head teacher Peter Thornes said: “We had a great time although the School Council were very strict and put pay to any attempts for us to sabotage each others cakes.

“We were delighted to all take part for such a good cause.”

The cakes were sold to all teachers and pupils in just 15 minutes and £125 was raised for the charity.

It iss Westfield’s aim to get £1,000 for their adopted charity this year and after several fund raising events they are up to £987.51.
