More than 80 per cent of householders said they are happy with the service provided by the police force during a recent door-to-door poll.
The policing community team from Bedford visited almost 200 homes in just five hours as part of the operation carried out in the Castle Road area.
Sgt Melissa Cunningham said: “The purpose of this operation was to help ensure that members of the community feel safe and to promote important crime prevention advice.
“We had a number of people take part, including some of our police cadets and members of Neighbourhood Watch.
“During the operation we gave crime prevention advice, handed out number plate securing packs, and carried out security bike marking.
“We also chatted to residents about any concerns they have about crime and anti-social behaviour in their area, and it was really pleasing to hear that the majority of people are happy with the service we provide.
“Events such as this are vital in helping to protect people and fight crime, and we will be carrying out further such operations across Bedfordshire.”
In total 197 households in eight roads were visited and 81 per cent of people said they were happy with the service provided by Bedfordshire Police.
