Bedfordshire Police have handed over 20 boxes packed with food to local food banks following an appeal by the Chief Constable to staff and officers.
Inspector Annita Clarke who deleivered the food parcels said: “I would like to thank everyone for their magnificant response to our Food Bank Appeal, which closed last weekend.
“By the time we hit our deadline the front counter at police headquarters was laden with donations and I know officers, staff and volunteers at other stations rallied round in a similar way to spread some Christmas cheer.
“What is remarkable is that we managed to gather all this together in the space of just nine days. We are pleased to be able to contribute in our modest way to help people this Christmas.”
