Police get new cells
The new temporary custody suite at Bedfordshire Police’s HQ had its first prisoner locked up by lunchtime on the first day of operation.
Police and Crime Commissioner Olly Martins said: “Not only do we have a new custody facility, we have 65 new officers wanting to make sure it is occupied from day one!”
The temporary custody suite will house offenders while a new facility is built at Kempston HQ.
