Homegrown band The Wholls performed for an estimated two billion viewers at this year’s Miss World competition.
The band, made up of four Bedford school pals, took to the stage in China to perform their debut single X21 in front of the world’s most beautiful women and the many people who had tuned in from their homes.
They performed on Saturday in front of a live crowd of around 4,000 in Sanya - a city on the southern end of China’s Hainan Island - and the show was broadcast to 190 countries across the globe.
Band member Joe Stevenson said; “It was a bit of a whirlwind because we were flown out to China and back again within give days.
“The whole thing was insane. We are just getting our heads around it.
“That was our moment in the sun. It was definitely the best day of our lives.”
The beauty pageant’s winner was Miss Spain with Miss Russia and Miss Indonesia ranking as runners up.
