Police confirm death of man after fall from multi-storey car park in Bedford

Police have confirmed that a man fell to his death from the River Street multi-storey car park in Bedford yesterday (Monday).

A spokesman for Bedfordshire Police said: "We were called at approximately 10.50am yesterday (Monday) to a report of a concern for welfare in River Street Car Park in Bedford.

"Emergency services attended the scene and road closures were put in place between River Street, Horne Lane and Commercial Road.

"A man fell from the building and was pronounced dead at around 3.30pm.

"The death is not being treated as suspicious, and his next of kin has been informed and is being supported.

"The roads were reopened at around 5pm."
