Lottery windfall comes at just the right time for these Bedford neighbours

Five people in Bedford are celebrating after winning £1,000 each thanks to their postcode.

The Washburn Close neighbours landed the windfall when MK41 7YQ was announced as a daily prize winner with People’s Postcode Lottery yesterday (December 28).

And it couldn't come at a better time as many of us have lost our jobs, taken a pay cut, been furloughed and face being short of cash during the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.

People’s Postcode Lottery ambassador Danyl Johnson sent his well-wishes and said: “Congratulations to our winners. I’m sure this news has made their day and I hope they enjoy spending their winnings.”

A minimum of 32 per cent of ticket sales goes directly to charities and players of People’s Postcode Lottery have raised more than £600million to date for thousands of good causes in Britain and beyond.

This draw was promoted on behalf of Crisis which has received more than £5.7million in funding thanks to players. The charity is dedicated to ending homelessness and throughout the year helps approximately 10,000 people in England, Scotland and Wales.
