Lions Club donates £1,000 to Bedford Foodbank
Organisation pass on cash to the needy
The Bedford Lions Club has received a share of £100,000 from the Lions Clubs Foundation of the British Isles to help support local communities during the COVID-19 crisis.
And the organisation has decided to support Bedford Foodbank with a donation of £1,000 from its share of then grant.
Lion Maddy Gamble said: “This is a significant sum of money that we are putting to good use straight away. This coronavirus pandemic is hurting lots of local people in lots of different ways - just because we are all social distancing doesn’t stop us from caring.
