Kings Bridge in Bedford is set to reopen following refubishment

Kings Bridge, the pedestrian bridge over the River Great Ouse between the Oasis Beach Pool and the Aspects Leisure Park, will reopen next week following refurbishment work by Bedford Borough Council.

The Council has invested over £600,000 in maintenance including; painting, some steelwork refurbishment and the replacement of the worn timber deck panels with new steel decking with high grip surfacing to keep this well-used bridge in operation.

A Bedford Borough Council spokesperson said: “Kings Bridge was in desperate need of refurbishment and we are pleased to announce these works are now complete. Our walking and cycling infrastructure in Bedford Borough are important and we want to continue to improve our networks and keep them in good condition for residents”.

Kings Bridge will re-opened by Tuesday 13 April.
