A Bedford Borough Council spokesperson said: “While this is not council land, we worked with the police and Village Hall Management Committee and the encampment moved on yesterday (Monday) evening. We are now assisting with the clear-up of this site.

“We are aware that this encampment has moved to a nearby location and we are reaching out to the landowner.”
