Central Bedfordshire Council's trading standards team is urging residents to be on their guard if they receive any unsolicited telephone calls.

A resident contacted the trading standards team after receiving a call and the caller started by asking if the resident needed any damp proofing work carried out. The caller also proceeded to ask the resident if they lived alone and whether they made their own decisions.

Although it is not clear what the caller’s intentions were, we would urge anyone who receives a suspicious telephone call to act with caution.
