A company that provides care to the elderly in their own home is calling on primary school children to help the elderly feel more connected and loved during lockdown and social isolation.

Home Instead Senior Care - which operates across Bedford and the surrounding area - is running its Sending Sunshine campaign in the hope of creating a little happiness and spreading some positivity.

Moona Karim, owner of Home Instead Bedford, said: “We recognised in this pandemic that our elderly will be missing out on seeing family, friends, and grandchildren, which is why we have created Sending Sunshine.

“We’re delighted that Raring2Go magazine is backing our campaign to inspire school children to write letters to isolating people living within our local community.”

All drawings and letters can be sent to Home Instead Senior Care Bedford Suite 2, 106A Bedford Road, Wootton Bedford MK43 9JB.

Include in the envelope the child’s name, full address, and name of their school - but for safety purposes, don't include those details on any of the child's drawings or letters. Just their first name or initial will be sufficient.
