A new study by Clario has analysed where in the UK are the top targets for cybercriminals.

Examples of cyber threats can include data breaches, hacking, phishing and being coerced into using malicious software which can have a detrimental effect on individuals and businesses.

Bedfordshire has 6.4 victims per 1,000 people for cybercrime which is the 5th highest throughout the whole of the UK.

This could be due to its ageing population with having significantly higher levels of those aged between 45 and 65 and those aged over 65, who may be less computer literate and more likely to be susceptible to breaches.

In Britain, many victims of cybercrime feel as if its impact, and potential damage on mental health is not taken seriously enough.

Over 57 per cent of Brits state that reporting the incident to the authorities resulted in no action being taken, and a staggering 70 per cent of victims claim to have suffered severe anxiety as a result of being frauded online.
