A teenager from Cople is climbing a mountain for a mental health charity which made a huge impression on him.

Jaden Kirby is an apprentice with Mercedes Benz and, along with other young workers, has been given special well-being sessions through mental health charity YiS

The 19-year-old – who has experienced mental health issues himself – was taught the importance of stress management and that treating your mental health is just as crucial as your physical health.

He said: “It had a big impact on me. I couldn't help but think that what YiS is doing will have a massive impact on so many people’s lives. This is a great cause and one I wanted to get behind.”

So much so that Jaden will set off for Morocco to climb the 4,167 metres Mount Toubkal later this month.

He’s hoping to raise £2,000 for the charity.
