Bedford sports facility wins Playfinder's Outstanding Facility Award

Footballers living in and around Bedford are able to benefit from some fantastic football facilities, they have the option of 9-a-side and 11-a-side pitches, as well as a state-of-the-art full-size 3G pitch.

The venue plays an integral role within the local community as a number of grassroots clubs use the pitches, including the Football Education Academy, Wixams Wanderers FC and the Bedfordshire FA.

October’s award, which is determined by Playfinder users, is based on pitch quality, venue amenities and customer experience.

Cllr Charles Royden, from Bedford Borough Council said: “It’s great to hear that this popular local sports venue has been rated so highly by Playfinder users.

"With a grass pitch, 3G artificial pitch, and other amenities like floodlights and changing rooms this Council facility really does offer a great environment for local teams and clubs.”

Playfinder, which rebranded from MyLocalPitch in the summer, is a platform with a mission of making it easier for everyone to play sports, and increase the utilisation of venues as a result.

Users have the choice of over 9,000 of the best facilities around the UK for 19 featured sports.
