Bedford photographer named double finalist in British Wildlife Photography Awards
A photographer from Bedford has been named a double finalist in a prestigious national competition for her incredible wildlife pictures.
It marks the fourth year in a row that Donna Samuels’ images have reached the finals of the British Wildlife Photography Awards, with her pictures showcasing the natural world in and around the town and reaching the final in the animal portraits and animal behaviour categories.

Alongside her wildlife photography, Donna is a familiar face as a photographer at events across Bedfordshire. This summer she was a house photographer at Bedford and Lincoln Summer Sessions, photographing headline artists including UB40, Paul Weller and Deacon Blue, as well as many other internationally recognised performers.
A collection of her wildlife photos is currently being exhibited at The Cheese Company at The Barns, Cardington.

But Donna is also keen to share her passion and inspire up-and-coming photographers – and will be holding a wildlife photography workshop in Bedford in September.
And for photographers who want to go a bit further afield, she’s leading wildlife photography tours to Uganda in 2027.
Donna said: “I’m absolutely delighted to have been named a double finalist this year. To receive recognition for the fourth year running is something I’m incredibly proud of. Wildlife photography has taken me to some amazing places and introduced me to incredible experiences, and I’m passionate about helping others enjoy the same journey through my workshops and photography tours.”
