With the school holidays, staycations and summer day trips in full swing as lockdown has eased, a new campaign to help cut down on litter has been unveiled.

As part of City to Sea’s Refill campaign, Bedford people are being encouraged to opt for a reusable water bottle and fill up on the go, rather than buying a single-use plastic bottle.

In the town, you can refill at more than 20 venues including Made In Bedford at Number 13, the Harpur Centre and at Provident House in Harpur Street.

Cory Walker, community lead for Refill Bedford, said: “As the public get back out and about, enjoying their summer holidays, I hope they will choose to reuse and bring a water bottle with them.

"We have 28 places to refill here in Bedford, we can all join together to make a difference and reduce single use in our community and stay hydrated.”
