Midas MD, Alan Rance said: "Not for one second did I dream of winning when faced with such mighty competition."

Project entries were assessed on management commitment and energy reduction strategies with targets that showed positive business outcomes.

The Midas Green Initiative took just 18 months and includes innovation and investment. Not only has the company - which employs more than 70 people - banned the use of single use plastics and has a zero landfill policy, it has also invested in its own solar farm, which provides 100 per cent green energy for the factories.
