Bedford man attempts to claim Guinness World Records title to break stigma of mental health

On Blue Monday (January 19), Alex Goulding will attempt to get the most plyometric push-ups in one minute.

And he’s not doing it to prove a point or to show how fit he is, oh no.

The Guinness World Records holder is also raising funds and awareness for Bedfordshire mental health services in the process.

Alex has been using the attempt as a way to spotlight resilience, wellbeing, and community support during a time of year that can feel especially heavy for many.

The Bedfordshire’s Big Push takes place at Robinson’s Pool, in Park Avenue, Bedford, between 11am and 1pm.

Blue Monday in January was chosen as this is often the time of year when people are struggling with financial pressures, anxieties about the upcoming year and the Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD). Suicide statistics are also high unfortunately.

Alex also holds the title for the most push up to planks, having reclaimed it in December.
