Colin Matthew visited the Kanchanaburi cemetery in October and found a headstone for Private George Edward Large, of the 5th Battalion Beds and Herts Regiment, British Army.

On the headstone it says: "Born 12.11.1919 at Ridgmont, Beds. Died 9th August 1943, age 23."

Colin said: "I visited river Kwai in October and also the Kanchanaburi Cemetery where many of the victims are buried.

"Whilst walking around I came across the enclosed photographs and thought some of your readers may be interested.

"I spent 3 or 4 days in and around the river Kwai and visiting the museums and cemeteries.

"When I came across the photos of soldiers, and noticed one was from Ridgmont, I thought that there might some of his family still in the area that would be interested in the photos.

"I'm hoping to get in touch with the family, if anyone wants to get in touch to speak to me about this I will be happy to talk to them."
