Aldi urgently recalls food over salmonella fears, Bedford shoppers told

Aldi has recalled Roosters Southern Fried Poppin’ Chicken and Roosters Breaded Poppin' Chicken because the products may contain salmonella.

The products affected are Roosters Southern Fried Poppin’ Chicken 210g with a best before date of 25 May 2022 and Roosters Breaded Poppin' Chicken 210g, also with a best before date of 25 May 2022.

In a joint statement with the Food Standards Agency (FSE), Aldi said: "The products listed above may be contaminated with salmonella. Symptoms caused by salmonella usually include fever, diarrhoea and abdominal cramps."

It added: "If you have bought any of the above products do not consume them. Instead, return them to the nearest Aldi store for a full refund."
