Aldi donate holiday kits to needy children in Bedford

Retailer also donates free shopping vouchers

Aldi has donated holiday kits to support Bedford children in need during the school holidays

In partnership with Team GB and Neighbourly, Aldi has created the kits, which include games, colouring books, recipes and craft activities, inspired by Team GB athletes, to help children stay busy and active during the summer holidays.

The kits have been given to Dine With Us, a community larder food bank which supports the vulnerable, which has redistributed the kits to families in need.

Aldi has also provided free shopping vouchers that can be used to buy ingredients for the recipes are included in the kits.

Fritz Walleczek, managing director of corporate responsibility at Aldi UK, said: “To help families in Bedford, and across the UK, we have worked with our charity partner, Neighbourly and Team GB to create Holiday Kits that are designed to provide kids with something fun to do at home, as well as food vouchers and recipes to help out with the cost of a weekly shop.”

Becky Dawson, trustee of Dine With Us, said: “We’re seeing more families across Bedfordshire and even beyond turning to us for support during the school holidays and Aldi’s Holiday Kits will help us provide the support these families and children need.”
