Access now increased at Bedford recycling centre

More vehicles will now be able to access the Bedford recycling centre with more booking slots also available.

Vans and most trailers can also return to the site as they had prior to Covid-19.

A booking system for the site remains in place to manage capacity, reduce waiting times and traffic congestion. Additionally the number of available slots has been increased, providing a further 448 slots a week.

Cllr Charles Royden, environment portfolio holder, said: “Our top priority is the safety of everyone using the site. While we are not able to return to complete normality we are continuing to monitor the site and guidance closely so that we can make changes like these which will increase access for local residents.”
