Mayor opens Bedford charity's new home

The counselling charity, which relocated from St John's Street, provides affordable counselling for the community, offering support for depression, anxiety and relationship problems in adults aged 18 and over.

Carol Jayes, chair of BCaT, said: "Cuts to mental health services mean we have more clients seeking help than ever before.

"We are also unique in offering long-term support. Clients can come weekly for up to 18 months, and sessions are priced according to income."

The mayor of Bedford, cllr Dave Hodgson, also officially reopened the Barley Mow after it closed for several months for a renovation.

He said: "It’s great to see regeneration and historic buildings being brought back to life in our town centre."
