VIDEO: Head over heels to be part of Celebrity JustDance

“One, two, three, four, and one, two, three, four.” - Numbers have never been my friend.

Most journalists squirm at the idea of having to work out a maths equation - and I am no exception.

But somehow, years after escaping the clutches of my terrifying maths teacher at school, I have found myself back in the rhythm of having sweaty hands at the thought of counting.

This time though, it’s for a very good cause.

12 weeks ago I embarked on a special journey towards transforming my two left feet into twinkle toes to perform in Celebrity JustDance for Keech Hospice Care.

My professional ballroom and latin dancer Alfie Sadowski has given up his time, in between international competitions, to travel from Essex to teach me for free.

And soon, after hours upon hours of training, I will take to the stage to perform three dances in front of thousands of people - to put what he has shown me into practice - for something truly special.

Keech Hospice Care supports people with terminal and life-limiting conditions so that they can live their lives to the fullest - and see their family receive help at the same time.

It’s an invaluable service that depends on donations - and that is why famous faces from across Milton Keynes - including ex-apprentice star Jaz Ampaw-Farr, Iain Stewart MP and MK Dons director John Cove - are also braving the stage.

My fears? Obviously the first that springs to mind is that I’ll go blank and forget my steps - or even worse - I fall off stage in my new dance shoes.

That aside, I feel incredibly lucky to be part of such a wonderful occasion.

It must be most girls’ dream; to wear dresses worth thousands of pounds, get your hair, make up and spray tan done - then take to the stage to pretend you’re a professional performer for the night.

So to have been given this opportunity, and know it will do so much good for Keech Hospice Care, is a very humbling experience.

Whether it’s a ten from Len - or in Celebrity JustDance’s case ten points from retired cricketer Darren Gough - we’re going to raise a lot of money.
