A dedicated collector’s haul of vintage Scalextric cars is coming under the hammer.
About 200 of the little cars, designed to whizz round an electrified track, are opening the auction at W&H Peacock, in Bedford, this Friday.
Among the 100 lots coming up for sale is a James Bond motor racing set, which includes a white Aston Martin, a black Mercedes Benz Bandit, the box and leaflets.
Auctioneer Lindsay Vintiner has put an estimate of £600-to-£800 on the iconic film spin-off toy.
She said: “It’s a brilliant collection, an interesting mix, and includes some early models from the 50s to 70s.
“These cars were made to be played with and finding them in this good condition is difficult.”
Lindsay added the collection has attracted a lot of interest with people already watching the lots on the web.
Among the vehicles expected to fetch the most is a cream Ferrari GT 250 Berlinetta, estimated between £400-to-£600, and a boxed Austin Healey which is listed as between £300-to-£400.
