Walkers from North Beds Nordic Walking have raised funds for Breakthrough Breast Cancer research by taking part in an 8-mile walk around the Woburn Estate.
This is a twice yearly event to help raise money for different charities and this outing raised £155.
Nordic Walking is a total body exercise which uses poles which engage the large muscles of the upper body. This makes walking easier on the hips, back, knees and ankles and gives your core a great workout.
In Bedford, this activity is accessible to everyone, whatever your level of fitness. The best way to start is to join a council run Reactive8 course, which start in late September.
All the leaders and Instructors started on a ReActive8 course and have gone onto do courses so they can teach or run their own groups. It is an affordable, fun, sociable way to get exercise and everyone is welcoming and friendly, and free tasters are available before the courses start.
