Next phase of resurfacing of A421 Bedford southern bypass starts on Monday

Resurfacing work on the A421 Bedford southern bypass will continue on the westbound carriageway next week.

The £4.5 million project to resurface the A421 Bedford southern bypass between the A6 at Elstow and the A4280 at Renhold started on the eastbound carriageway on November 17 last year.

Work on the eastbound carriageway is almost complete with resurfacing work on the westbound carriageway due to begin on Monday, January 26. It will be carried out overnight, between 8pm and 6am on weeknights only and is due to be completed by March 13.

Signed diversion routes will be in place during the overnight closures.

Live traffic information is available on the Highways Agency website and mobile app, and drivers can also listen to traffic bulletins on local radio for updates.
